many similar online games have rules that strictly enforce 1 account per person. this makes sense becuase users could use multiple accounts in combination and have an unfair advantage over a user with a single account. the problem is, THERE IS NO WAY TO 100% DETECT MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS RUN BY THE SAME PERSON. any system that you implement is more unfair, because the 1 or 2 users that find ways around it will now have a HUGE advantage over the other players. at edrugtrader, i decided from the beginning that instead of forcing 1 account per person, i will just make it not worth while to have multiple accounts, in such a way that a user that has 10 accounts has little advantage over a user with 1 account. this is why you can only rob people around your current rank. the thinking is this: if you build up a character just to rob them with another account, after you rob them once, they are too low ranked to rob again, and starting another account to rob would be pointless because they couldn't catch up in time. to get around this, many users are starting up to 200 accounts, and killing them off 1 at a time as they progress. so a new rule has to be put in place: if you run multiple accounts, they are NEVER allowed to rob each other. if your multiple accounts are discovered, and it is determined that they robbed each other, ALL of your accounts will be removed for cheating. the other aspect of edrugtrader is the gang. a group of people that will all rob the same person in retaliation for them robbing one of their gang's members. although you might not like being jacked by 50 users, this is perfectlly legal. it, however, is not legal if all 50 users are run by the same person. that individual does not have to worry about the other 49 people turning their backs on them, or robbing them after the gang gets the loot. the social interactions and fear of turncoats is part of gang life, and with 1 person running 50 accounts, you don't get that. so a new rule has to be put in place: if you run multiple accounts, you can not rob the same user with more than 1 of your accounts in the same day. again, if you break the rule, all of your accounts will be removed. don't worry about accidentally doing this, the system will track IP addresses and not allow you to rob the user... if you spoof IP's, or reconnect your modem to get around this warning, you will risk losing your accounts. buy some credits, you cheap fuck ©1999-2008 all rights reserved |
